In an 8-3 vote, the Anchorage Assembly approved an agreement between O’Malley Ice and Sports and the municipality to operate three venues — the Sullivan Arena, Ben Boeke Ice Arena, and Dempsey Andersen Ice Arena — for five years with an extension option to add another five years to the lease.

Students at middle and high schools across the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District walked out of their first-period classes Tuesday morning to protest what they say is a lack of student input regarding recent decisions by the Mat-Su School Board.
