The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County’ star Madison Bontempo claimed that she turned down multiple offers to join ‘Real Housewives’ franchises
Madison Bontempo apparently almost held a snowflake, a diamond and an orange all before she ended up on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.
“For years when I lived in Los Angeles, they asked me to be on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and I turned it down,” Madison, 34, claimed on the Wednesday, May 13, episode of the “Unplanned” podcast, hinting she was also allegedly asked to audition for The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. “Then, I moved to Orange County, and they asked me to be on the Real Housewives of OC and I said no. And then I moved to Utah and then I came back to OC and they asked me again to be on .
” The third time around, Madison said she agreed to “entertain” Bravo’s reported interview request.
“I took the interview this time for the first time. Wanted to see the vibes, you know? ” Madison recalled.
“I'm like, ‘Why am I always saying no? Maybe I should just do something. ’ I took the interview and then they wanted me to meet up with the other woman, and they really wanted me to do it. I finally was feeling really nervous, like, ‘I don't know.
I just don't really feel like it's right. ’ Then, I just turned it down. ” Months after declining RHOC again, Madison was offered a spot on Hulu’s upcoming Mormon Wives spinoff set in Orange County. “This felt more right because the girls are my real friends. I am LDS,” Madison explained, noting she has been tight with most of her costars for decades.
“I felt like it wasn't as scary because I knew everybody on it, and we were all doing this for the first time together. It's not like you're jumping into a cast that's already been there for so long and you're the new girl. We're all starting it at the same time it is this new thing for all of us.
” Madison will appear on Mormon Wives: OC alongside Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Ashleigh Pease, Chandler Higginson Brooks and Bobbi Althoff. It is also likely that Jen Affleck from the OG reality TV series will make the leap to the new show after relocating from Utah to California.
Jen, 26, rose to fame as a member of MomTok with Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Layla Taylor, Miranda McWhorter and Demi Engemann, the latter who left the show ahead of season 5. As for Madison, she has her own connections to the OG crew.
“I knew Demi, her ex-husband was his groomsman,” Madison said on Wednesday’s episode, referring to her husband Kyler Fisher’s bridal party. “We knew Dakota and Taylor because Dakota tiled our bathroom in Utah when we were remodeling, and then we met Taylor at the gym.
Then, I went to high school with Mayci. ” It’s not known whether any of the Mormon Wives OGs will make the jump to the OC spinoff, though McCall, 36, is one of Mayci’s older sisters.
