A study reveals that domestic violence has increased during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Increased time spent at home, social isolation and financial stresses were likely drivers of increased domestic violence, said the authors of the report, which was based on an online survey of 15,000 women conducted by the Australian Institute of Criminology in May.
Two-thirds of those women said the violence had either started or escalated since Covid-19 lockdowns, job losses and social restrictions began.
