"They love America. They fought for us. They were with us the whole time. True allies to the West," he said. The poll also asked respondents which groups of people they supported admitting into the United States. While 74 percent—including 73 percent of Republicans and 81 percent of Democrats— said they were in favor of admitting Afghans who worked with the U.S. government, support dipped for other groups.
