The city of Manila is leading in terms of the highest number of public school enrollees for Academic Year 2020-2021 in the cities of Metro Manila, data from DepEd show.
According to the Division of City Schools -Manila, there is a total of 289,781 enrollees in public schools in the city, 7.74 percent or 20,809 higher than last year’s 268,972 enrollees as of Tuesday. Data from DCS-Manila also showed that 9,079 private school students transferred to the city’s public schools. About 8,391 students enrolled under the Alternative Learning System and Special Education .
DCS-Manila Superintendent Maria Magdalena Lim said they already expected the increase in the number of public school enrollees this year.
