More than 38,000 seeking shelter in flood relief centres

A TOTAL of 38,738 flood evacuees were still housed in 126 temporary relief centres in three states as of 8am today.The State Disaster Management Committee reported that 10,747 families were still sheltering at 123 centres in four flood-hit districts. Batu Pahat remains the worst-affected district with 37,827 victims, followed by Muar , Segamat and Tangkak ., the JPBN secretariat said the number of evacuees fell to 127 from 154.
Of this number, 90 are placed in SK Leban Chondong while the rest are in SK Kampung Aur, both in Rompin district. , the JPBN secretariat reported that the number of flood evacuees in Jasin stays at 24 and all of them are taking refuge at SK Parit Penghulu. – Bernama, March 14, 2023.
