KIRO 7 News StaffMore than 2,000 people are without power in east Pierce County after two Tacoma Power substation facilities were attacked early Sunday morning, Tacoma Public Utilities announced.
At least 7,000 people were initially affected by the outage, but as of 11:45 a.m., the number was down to just over 2,600TPU said it is “working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.” Law enforcement has been notified. Early this morning, two Tacoma Power substation facilities were attacked in east Pierce county. Currently, 7,300 customers are without power as a result. Law enforcement has been notified. We are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.
