A total of 208 people died following the onslaught of Typhoon Odette, the Philippine National Police said Monday.

The victims were from typhoon-ravaged areas, namely Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and CARAGA.The numbers, though, are yet to be verified by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. NDRRMC Spokesperson Mark Timbal, in an earlier interview with CNN Philippines, could only confirm four deaths out of 31 reported cases, as they were still validating the count.
