Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan announced on Friday, July 28, that 14,393 jobless residents have been hired in the city's job fairs since January this year.
In the city's social media address, Capital Report, Public Employment Service Office Chief Fernan Bermejo said 3,455 were hired on the spot; 5,765 via employee placement report; 149 under the Special Program for the Employment of Students ; and 914 were Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers beneficiaries.and 240 for the national government.
Meanwhile, Lacuna-Pangan assured that the provision of job opportunities for jobless Manilans will continue in her administration through job caravans, fairs, and other forms of recruitment activities. Several job fairs are also being held during the "Kalinga sa Maynila" or the local government's weekly public forum in the city barangays.
