More than 100 youths will team up with law enforcement officers and battle it out on the screen for an esports tournament in Snohomish County .
In an effort to reach even more kids, including those who don't connect to physical sports, they're bringing in headsets, controllers and screens. For the first time last year, the BGC of Snohomish County, in partnership with the Everett Police Department and other law enforcement agencies, hosted an esports gaming tournament.
"It is a full 32-team tournament," Lockwood said. "We have a bracket. We go and we're just playing Rocket League and it's just a lot of fun."The EPD has had a longstanding relationship with the BGC of Snohomish County. Organizers said it's partnerships like these that benefit the entire community.
