More than 100 COVID-19 cases have been linked to a church camp in Texas.
July 8, 2021 -- Fifty-seven youth and adults who recently attended a south Texas church camp have tested positive for COVID-19, and more than 90 other people who went to the camp have self-reported testing positive, the Galveston County Health District said inOf the 57 confirmed positive tests, 47 cases were in people over 12 and 10 cases were in youth younger than 12, the health district said.
The health district did not identify the church holding the camp, but the lead pastor of Clear Creek Community Church in League City, TX., posted in“Unfortunately, upon return from camp, 125+ campers and adults reported to us that they tested positive for COVID-19,” lead pastor Bruce Wesley wrote. “Additionally, hundreds more were exposed to COVID-19 at camp. And hundreds of others were likely exposed when infected people returned home from camp.
