UK police have said they are not treating the incident as"terror-related," and have not yet identified any motive. In London, Metropolitan Police arrested said they had arrested more than 100 people for offences including violent disorder, assault on an emergency worker and breach of protest conditions after crowds attempted to storm down Downing Street.
Counter-protesters, angry at rising knife crime in the UK also clashed with police, with a number taken into custody.
