New photos show salvage crews lifting some of the steel and debris out of the Patapsco River on Friday morning.
"Right now and throughout the weekend, we are going to be removing the last pieces of debris and wreckage that is remaining on the bottom of the riverbed, and surveying as we go to find any of the last pieces on the bottom," said Colonel Estee Pinchasin, the District Commander for USACE, Baltimore District.
She said the goal is to make sure there is no steel that is left behind, so ships can safely navigate through the channel.
