Questions are still swirling about the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged co-conspirators.

The partial release of tens of thousands of files relating to the Justice Department’s past investigations into Epstein – compelled by a 30-day deadline set by Congress and signed intoThis photo provided by the New York State Sex Offender Registry shows Jeffrey Epstein, March 28, 2017. The DOJ insists it’s following the law, but that it’s still weeks away from releasing every file, because officials are performing due diligence to ensure no victims’ names are released. Both Democratic and some Republican lawmakers behind the original push to compel the files’ release say the DOJ did not comply with their law requiring the full release of all materials in November. And, the files that were released weren’t released in a “searchable and downloadable format,” which the law mandated. Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., speaks during a news conference regarding the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, on Capitol Hill, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, in Washington. Massie posts to X that missing the deadline isn’t the only violation of Congress’ law. He says the DOJ redacted names of accused sex offenders and internal communications about decisions, which shouldn’t be redacted according to new law. More unanswered questions stem from the personal travel information of a Miami-Herald reporter being included in the Epstein files released, attached to a grand jury subpoena. Reporter Julie Brown – an investigative journalist known for covering Epstein – says her American Airlines booking information and flights from July 2019 are part of the files. Brown was covering federal investigation into the heavily criticized ‘The non-prosecution agreement was struck in 2008, handled by former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta. Under the deal, Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges in Florida of soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution. He served 13 months in a work-release program, made payments to victims and registered as a sex offender. In 2019, the DOJ started investigating how that deal was struck, considering Epstein was later charged in Manhattan for nearly identical allegations, but took his own life in federal custody awaiting trial. The department found Acosta exercised “poor judgment” in the investigation, which Brown was covering at the time. She posts to X, “As the flight itinerary includes my maiden name why was the DOJ monitoring me?”There was a series of emails from the FBI sent in 2019 released in the latest batch, and they allude to possible investigations into 10 other associates and possible enablers of Epstein. The emails suggest they hailed from Florida, Boston, New York City and Connecticut. Only three have been identified: Epstein’s former girlfriend and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, who’s serving a 20-year prison sentence; former French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who was found dead in jail in 2022; and retail mogul Leslie Wexner, who denies knowing about Epstein’s crimes. This undated photo released by the U.S. Department of Justice shows Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Trump hasn’t been accused of any crimes related to Epstein, his former social acquaintance. And just because someone’s name appears in the files doesn’t mean they committed a crime. But one email included in the latest batch of files sent in 2020 by an unnamed assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York says Epstein’s private jet flight records reveal Trump flew in it “many more times than previously has been reported” – eight between 1993 and 1996.Demonstrators hold signs asking for the release of the Epstein files during a "No Kings" protest in downtown Las Vegas Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025. Also included in the batch of files was a letter allegedly written by Epstein to the disgraced ex-USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar from jail. Epstein supposedly made a crude joke about “our president” complaining about their fates in prison. The Justice Department later claimed the letter is not genuine, but offered no explanation as to where it may have come from. The DOJ warned on X that the files include “untrue and sensationalist claims” against Trump that are “unfounded and false.”Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote, “Document production is just that. We produce documents, and sometimes this can result in releasing fake or false documents because they simply are in our possession because the law requires this.”The state epidemiologist warned that Utah may face a severe flu season.Westbound Interstate 215 was closed for several hours after a semi rolled and lost its load, causing a crash. The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday underOne person has died after a crash involving multiple vehicles and multiple injuries on Bangerter Highway in West Valley City. The crash happened in the northbouA crash in Little Cottonwood Canyon prompted a large presence of first responders early Tuesday morning. The crash happened near mile marker 6, just past the LiUtah Gov.
