The US Coast Guard has confirmed in a media update that more banging noises have been detected in the desperate search for the missing Titanic tour submersible.
He admitted they didn’t know what the noises were and had deployed several sonobuoys in an attempt to better understand their origin.
“The good news, what I can tell you, is that we’re searching in the area where the noises were detected, and we’ll continue to do so.”The banging noises were first detected by a Canadian P-3 aircraft on Tuesday and again on Wednesday. Three search vessels arrived on scene on Wednesday, and two Robotically Operated Vehicles searched the area with several more to come.
They confirmed the Polar Prince remained at the Titanic site and was actively supporting rescue efforts.“We are aware of the time sensitivity around the mission. We remain focused on the search of the Titan and for the crew and keep hope they will be found safely."
