Police in Salem County are investigating the post, which was allegedly created by a high school student.

A screenshot of the post, allegedly made by a Woodstown High School student, shows a white person wearing a mask with text on the image stating “ need to die they need to Dieee.”Woodstown Police Department acknowledged an investigation into the post last week and the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed it is also involved in the case.

“The kids are really upset over that because more should have been done,” she said. “To me, it seems like they’re laid back with this whole situation. It’s like they want to sweep it under the rug and just get rid of it.”“First and foremost the school needs to reach out to the community to start a healing process,” Carney said. “I feel the school district did not handle the whole situation properly. I feel the school district owes the public a formal apology.

Crispin, in response to questions sent by NJ Advance Media, said last week he would not comment on student matters, but stressed the district’s commitment to equality. “The purpose of this email is to inform parents that there have been two racially motivated incidents that have occurred at the high school this past week,” he wrote. “Please know that the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School District takes these actions very seriously and will continue to do everything in its power to ensure that all our students are treated in a respectful and non-biased manner.
