Towns south of I-80 in northeastern Illinois and northwestern Indiana could feel the potentially severe storms between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

“Constantly monitor weather today. This stuff can evolve very quickly,” Yack said. Dangerous wind gusts are expected to top off around 80 miles per hour, he added. Another day of warm and muggy conditions with severe storms possible this afternoon through early evening. Have multiple ways to receive warnings today! Storms end this evening and overnight with dry and cooler weather in store Tuesday through the end of the workweek.
