Mobile 's Heroes Plaza .Hall of Famers Billy Williams and Robert Brazile arrived in Mobile today! These 9-foot-tall bronze statues are two of the initial six statues of iconic athletes from Mobile that will be the centerpiece of the Hall of Fame Walk that is under construction near the Mobile Convention Center.
This pair of 2,200-pound statues was personally delivered by Brett Grill, who has done an phenomenal job on this project. They have joined the statues of legendary baseballers Hank Aaron and Satchel Paige that were delivered to Mobile back in July. Right now, the Hall of Fame Walk project is making substantial progress, and we expect the groundwork to be completed by the end of the year so all six statues can be installed in early 2025. The project will also include upgrades to the landscaping, lighting, security, traffic and sidewalks in the area, among other improvements. The Hall of Fame Walk project will ensure that future Mobilians know who these incredible players were and continue to be inspired by them.
