Three more buses of asylum seekers arrive in New York City from Texas this morning, under the order of Gov. Greg Abbott.
This past spring, Abbott announced plans
in response to President Joe Biden's decision to lift a pandemic-era emergency health order that restricted migrant entry numbers by denying them a chance to seek asylum.Adams doubled down and said he's going to do everything he can to get Abbott voted out. "I know he thinks he's Clint Eastwood, but he's not. He is an anti-American governor that is really going against everything that we stand for," Adams said."I'm sure if he goes into his lineage he came from somewhere."
On Tuesday, the City Council held a hearing on how the city is handling the intake given the long-standing strain on the shelter system. Members said they need to be more creative and the feds need to do more to help.
