Francesco Morbidelli has acknowledged that there is room for improvement in his performance despite a challenging year in MotoGP. His best result was a podium finish in the Sprint race at Misano, while riding Ducati 's dominant Desmosedici GP24 bike. In 2025, Morbidelli will join VR46 Racing, where he'll have the opportunity to race on the same bike.
He remains focused on rediscovering the 'missing element' he felt was absent throughout the season, which he believes is key to improving his performance and consistency in upcoming championships. Morbidelli switched to Pramac Ducati after two difficult years with Yamaha. However, with Pramac becoming a Yamaha satellite team in 2024, Morbidelli opted to join Valentino Rossi's MotoGP team. His Pramac teammate Jorge Martin, who secured his first MotoGP championship this year, will move to Aprilia next season, while Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira will join Pramac. The Italian rider remains optimistic about the 2024 season despite a challenging start, marked by a serious crash early in the year that kept him out of all pre-season testing and delayed his adaptation to the new campaign. Morbidelli is determined to make the necessary steps to consistently fight for top positions and achieve wins and podium finishes. He expressed that the team made a strong comeback from the start of the year and the past two years, calling it a positive season. He believes he could have contended for fifth place in the championship. Morbidelli revealed that he will work with his new team next year to identify and address the missing element in his performance, since he will be riding the same bike. He acknowledged that he didn't manage to win this year and only achieved one podium finish in a Sprint race, highlighting that there is room for improvement and further refinement in his approach
