The Homer Police Department and a Homer man rescued a moose calf Friday that was stuck underneath a floatplane and pinned between the aircraft and a dock along the Kenai Peninsula’s Port, Harbor and Spit town.

ANCHORAGE , Alaska - A man helped Homer Police officers rescue a moose calf Friday that was stuck underneath a floatplane and pinned between the aircraft and a dock along the Kenai Peninsula ’s Port, Harbor and Spit town.

HPD posting on Facebook that officers Morgan Tracy and Charles Lee helped rescue the animal with the help of resident Spencer Warren, adding that the calf was saved from “sure demise.”In one of five of the videos taken by Spencer, the calf’s mother can be seen watching Warren and the officers. “I show up to work and there’s a baby moose that fell in the lake right there,” Warren said in one of his videos. “It’s stuck between the float and the dock. It’s still alive. It’s trying to get out. Momma moose won’t leave me alone to save the baby.”
