This blocks direct radio waves from the Earth from reaching the far side — offering a pristine environment for radio astronomy. The LuSEE-Night mission will primarily serve as a “pathfinder for future experiments,” demonstrating the instrument's capabilities, onboard payloads, and the overall robustness of the technology in the harsh lunar environment.
