Amanda talks more warmth + rain ramping up in coverage soon!MONTGOMERY, Ala. - After tying the record high temperature in Montgomery on Friday, will we do it again today? As of the 3pm observation, Montgomery’s Regional Airport made it to 82°. Yesterday we tied the record, and today we set a new one! Today was the warmest February 8th we have ever experience, but this record shouldn’t come as a huge surprise because the last time we saw 81° on this date just two years ago!
Temperatures remain the big story for now: both afternoon highs and overnight lows will remain well above average for the next few days.Watch the latest live and local weather data below, streaming on WSFA Weather Now! Please note, this stream does not include live severe weather coverage, only data on the latest weather conditions.
The latest data shows temperatures continue to run well above average to start next week, but that trend starts to fade by Wednesday... highs Monday through Wednesday will be in the 60s and 70s while overnight lows will be in the 50s and 60s. Is it a major drop? No: but compared to near 80° temperatures at our warmest point, it is a bit closer to the seasonable average.
FIRST ALERT: The weather pattern is also looking a bit more active next week. As widely scattered showers are expected Tuesday through next Friday. The increase in wet weather is all due to several fronts moving towards, across and stalling over parts of the south.
