) - A Montgomery man learned his fate in federal court after being convicted for producing child sexual abuse material, Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson announced Wednesday. Cleveland Dewayne Chambers, 49, will spend the next 20 years in federal prison without parole.

According to a plea agreement and other court records, Chambers’ illegal activities were discovered in 2022 while Pennsylvania law enforcement officers were conducting a child exploitation investigation on a different person in their jurisdiction. “Protecting children from exploitation is one of law enforcement’s most important responsibilities,” Davidson said. “Producing and trading in child sexual abuse material is an incredibly tragic crime that robs children of their innocence and inflicts long lasting harm.

The court records showed that Chambers was suspected to be involved in producing or sharing illegal images of children and that it was ultimately discovered he was directing a woman in St. Louis, Missouri, to create explicit videos with her young daughter. Chambers would then share the images and videos to others through a“While all child sexual exploitation is unacceptable, the sexual abuse of a two-year-old is absolutely reprehensible,” Davidson added.
