A knife was found in a Santa Rosa high school class but no gun after police received a report that a student had a gun in their waistband.

A knife wrapped in a Montgomery High School t-shirt was found in a classroom, but police did not find a gun.by a classmate during a fight in a classroom. Santa Rosa police said the incident today began when a student reported around 10:45 a.m. that they saw another student displaying a firearm in their waistband. The lockdown was lifted at 1 p.m.
Police said that today was described as "senior assassin day" at the school in which students bring water guns to campus that are used to "eliminate" other people playing the game. "These kinds of ‘games’ on school campuses are troubling because students are bringing perceived handguns on campus and targeting other students, teachers, and administrators," police said in a statement.
