The annual Montclair Village Holiday Stroll, set for December 12, promises an enhanced experience with more musical groups, live entertainment, hands-on activities, and returning vendors. Highlights include music curated by DJ Wiley Coyote and Winter Wonderland photos by Leah Marie Studio.

“Others are from out of town and say they heard about us by word-of-mouth on an airplane or just on the streets in Oakland.” Like the customers at Yellow Door, highlights of the four-hour stroll this year will include the return of familiar regulars and a healthy sprinkling of newcomers. Returning will be Winter Wonderland photos by Leah Marie Studio, crafts with Marissa Verson Harrison and Ilan Penson of Red Oak Realty and music curated by DJ Wiley Coyote in the F&M Bank Family Fun Zone.
Williams says that in other locations, craft tables are increasingly popular, a reflection of the community’s enthusiasm for in-person, creative and collaborative experiences. Davis herself will model the way small businesses in Montclair Village bond and connect to each other cooperatively. The Atelier specialty boutique shop opened in August at the Medau Place location formerly occupied by home goods store Mix. The store offers limited collections of home textiles and clothing accessories designed or hand-made by artisans.
Asked about serving on the MVA, Davis says, “It takes everybody doing a little bit. We all share in the glory and the upsets. I’ve lived here forever, but I’m a relatively new member.
