The sheriff's office hosted its annual spring awards ceremony, highlighting the work of department employees and other first responders who go above and beyond. The event also recognized MCSO Wellness Clinician Abigail Timberlake-McCormick with the Civilian of the Year award. The sheriff's office said Timberlake-McCormick received the Greater Wheatland Area Chamber of Commerce 2025 "Volunteer of Distinction" Award for her impressive engagement with the community and interaction & utilization of Kevlar, one of the department's wellness dogs, making everyone around her feel at home.
