Monroe County, NY - Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has announced the county’s second year of participating inThis initiative is a nationwide demonstration of support for military veterans.
It aims to raise awareness around the unique challenges faced by veterans and how they can access resources available at the county, state, and federal levels. “Veterans spend years away from family and friends and risk their lives for the safety of our country," Bello said. "In Monroe County, we take every opportunity we can to say thank you and to serve the men and women who have served us through our Veterans Service Agency. I encourage all municipalities, businesses, and residents in our county to join us as we light our building green in support and appreciation of our veteran community.
The effort involves illuminating county buildings green including the County Office Building, Fleet Center, and Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. Businesses and private residences are encouraged to participate in the cause by replacing one light bulb with a green one from Monday, Nov. 6 to Sunday, Nov. 12.
