The woman was in the first several weeks of her freshman year at Monmouth University in 2019 when she was sexually assaulted, according to the lawsuit.
A Monmouth University student has filed a lawsuit against the college and an unsanctioned fraternity alleging she was drugged and sexually assaulted by a fellow student on campus in 2019 following a party.
University officials should have known that Mund presented a danger because he left his previous undergraduate school after “allegations of sexual assault were raised against him there,” according to the woman’s lawsuit. That college was not identified. A spokeswoman for Monmouth University said the university does not comment on active litigation. A spokesman for the national Alpha Kappa Lambda declined to comment.
Mund described himself as the founder and president of the Alpha Kappa Lambda chapter on campus, according to a screenshot of an Instagram account contained in the lawsuit. Afterward, the students returned to Mund’s four-person dorm room and he gave the woman a drink, according to the suit. She thought it “tasted normal enough,” but later realized she was drugged, the lawsuit said.
