A 66-year-old monk at Aurora’s Marmion Abbey has been charged with having sexual contact with a former student of Marmion Academy, a school run by the abbey, Aurora police officials announced Wednesday.
Charron was a teacher at the academy, a not-for-profit high school for young men at 100 Butterfield Road in Aurora. Charron is also accused of having non-consensual sexual conduct with the student beyond graduation, police said. After the former student notified police of the allegations, Marmion Academy placed Charron on administrative leave and he was barred from the Marmion Academy campus and other ministerial functions.
