"Speaking as a person who survived early childhood trauma and is the mother of a 16-year-old, it's okay not to be perfect or fully healed. In 16 years, I have changed and evolved so much as a person. There have definitely been 'stupid moments' in my life — especially due to my trauma and PTSD. But I don't blame my trauma or PTSD; it's just stuff I still had to learn and grow from. It's okay to let your children know you're not perfect. People make mistakes.
