The mother of a 17-year-old high school student has spoken out after turning her son in to authorities upon learning he was plotting a mass attack on the anniversary of the Columbine massacre.
The date will be the 21st anniversary of the 1999 mass shooting at Columbine High School in Columbine, Colo., which left 13 students and faculty members dead. When confronted about the disturbing contents of the journal, the teen reportedly claimed it was just a creative writing exercise. After grappling with the information, Nicole contacted authorities, who arrested her son on Sept. 17.
