Shahin's sister-in-law, Aida Dagher, said she was disappointed by what she called a lack of urgency in Shahin's case. She said, however, that the State Department has told her they are working on his case."We contact the State Department over and over. Are they deaf? I don't know," Dagher said. "They are leaving him to die. We don't want letters of sympathy when he dies. We don't want him in a box," Dagher said.
