A mom claims a North Carolina school district is making sexually explicit books available to students despite a new policy placing firmer standards on book selections.

Some parents feel the lack of a clear definition is allowing sexually explicit books to still be included in WCPSS libraries, including local mom Dana Ramos. To Ramos, one of those books is "What Girls Are Made Of" by Elana K. Arnold, which she alleges is available in more than a dozen WCPSS libraries. An analysis of WCPSS's library catalog conducted by Crisis in the Classroom suggests that the book can be found in multiple high schools.meant to examine "what it means to be a girl" and invite readers to "explore their own identities and imperfections.
