After hosting it as usual on Sept. 15, she was gone the next day, and Smith began Sept. 16’s edition by saying he “was not aware that this is something she was contemplating doing.”“while we knew we were going to make a change — her deal ran through the end of the year — we were more focused on that timeline.”Stephen A.
