Orlando Pirates teenager Relebohile Mofokeng says his focus is on learning from older players and wants to improve at the club.

'I’m happy with my improvement, but there is still a lot ... to do,' said the midfielder. The last two years have probably been the best for Orlando Pirates youngster Relebohile Mofokeng, who has forced his way into the Buccaneers line-up as a teenager.Mofokeng is arguably one of the most important players in the Pirates squad, having made 25 appearances for the club this season, with two goals and three assists.

For a 19-year-old, Mofokeng has found it fairly simple to adapt to the top level of South African football, having only joined the Sea Robbers back in 2022 from Transnet School of Excellence. The attacking midfielder says his main focus is to improve having made his debut for the club towards the end of last season.“I’m happy with my improvement, but there is still a lot … to do and learning from the older guys,” said the Bucs teenager.

“I don’t feel any pressure, I just want to keep on improving and keep on learning. I mean, I just keep on pushing, fighting for my position and fighting to be a better person.”Mofokeng was part of the Premier Soccer League Player Transition Programme, where he graduated with fellow players from various clubs in the DStv Premiership after completing a course at Gordon Institute of Business.

The programme aims to prepare players for life after football, equipping them with life skills, educational opportunities, and career guidance. The player transition programme was launched in 2022, in an initiative between the PSL and MultiChoice.
