However, the Ballon d'Or winner has now revealed that he wants to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond this season. "My wish is known, to stay at Real Madrid. I believe and hope it will happen," Modric said, as per Sports Mole. "The rest are only assumptions and rumours. I repeat for the 100th time, I hope and believe I will stay at Real Madrid," Modric told reporters.
When asked if needs to retire from international football if he wants to stay at Madrid, he added,"Short and clear, no."
