The next few days will remain very hot across South Texas, but relief from the heat is possible next week as a cold front aims for Texas.
Over the past few weeks, South Texas has been locked in what seems to be a never-ending early fall heat wave. Even when a weak cold front moves through the region, afternoon high temperatures are still routinely reaching the mid-90s. In fact, going back to Sept. 10, San Antonio has recorded 30 consecutive days with highs temps of at least 90 degrees. And since the start of October, the city’s average high temperature has been 94.
During this time, we have no chance of rain and winds will stay light, between 5 and 10 mph. Next week’s cold front A strong system of low atmospheric pressure is expected to dig into the upper Midwest and northeastern United States by early next week. Trailing behind this low pressure system will be a cold front that’s likely to advance all the way into Texas. The cold front will likely push into North Texas on Monday, moving south into Central and South Texas by Tuesday and Wednesday.
