Federal prosecutors on Monday asked a federal judge to revoke an order allowing a Mobile woman charged in a massive drug conspiracy to go free pending trial.

For now, Echandza Dianca Maxie remains locked up in Mobile County Metro Jail. The 41-year-old Mobile woman faces two indictments, one alleging that she participated in her husband’s drug distribution organization and one accusing her of bilking the federal government out of at least $400,000 through schemes to defraud COVID-19 relief programs. On Friday, U.S.

Court records indicate that at one point, federal investigators obtained court permission to install a recording device in McGree’s Cadillac Escalade to capture FaceTime conversations he had while inside the vehicle. The court filing alleges that McGee’s organization was moving, “conservatively,” 20 kilograms of cocaine a month. It references more than 9 kilograms of cocaine and more than 1,000 fentanyl pills seized from McGee and other defendants.

The prosecution filing states that sheriff’s deputies saw the 3-year-old child “emerging from the back door of the residence carrying a blue Nike bookbag that contained a large amount of bulk cocaine.” Inside the house, they found another backpack with cocaine and two guns.
