The mayor says the work continues through the Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Crews have been busy in Midtown over the last few weeks as work continues through our Capital Improvement Program . You may have recently seen activity along Bienville Avenue, Hannon Avenue, and Montauk and Hallett streets, where teams have been installing sod and making sidewalk improvements.
Crews are also working near Common Street and Conti Street to remove damaged sidewalk panels and eliminate tripping hazards, helping make the area safer and more accessible. Some of our CIP-supported projects are also making improvements along the DIP Service Road, where we’ve been forming new curbs to improve drainage and strengthen the roadway. We’ve also got teams replacing sidewalks in areas along Roosevelt Avenue, Clinton Street, and Highland Woods Drive. If we’re not working near you yet, we likely will be soon. Each year, funding from the CIP helps improve sidewalks, roadways, and other infrastructure across all seven City Council districts. In addition to the work already underway, nearly $17 million will be invested in local streets this year through the CIP. By dedicating funding to critical infrastructure needs, the CIP program is helping us chip away at a backlog of deferred maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
