And, three weeks ago, a woman from Mobile walked out on the stage of NBC's The Voice and sang it."Where does that come from? Because there's a depth that you have but it seems like it comes out of you easy.

""I think, I just love singing and I've always loved singing so all of the people that I grew up listening to they put feeling in their music, and it was time as music, and I always wanted to mimic that and make sure that my music was timeless. And so, when I sing, I'm singing from right here the whole time as soon as I start." Her name is Alexia Jayy, a young singer and mom who has taken the stage many times and many places since she honed her vocal skills as a little girl with a local gospel quartet known as Grace. And that performance sent the judges chairs spinning during blind auditions on The Voice, earning her a unanimous 3 chair turn and a Voice coach.... Adam Levine."Don't make me cry!" she replied."And so, my hometown knows me as Brianna. Bri. Everybody calls me Bri. But my middle name is Alexia. So, I wanted to make my stage name Alexia J. Because my last name is Jackson. So..."It worked again during her next performance in a battle round as her coach, Adam Levine chose her to move forward in the competition."Yeah it's very nerve-racking because you don't know what's going through their heads. You don't know if you did everything that you possibly could to change their minds."You know I won the battle and my friend got stolen so I was so excited. I was so happy because we built a really good friendship as we were working together." It's a long journey for Alexia from her days in chorus and theater at Irvington's Alma Bryant High School, where she remembers her theater teacher encouraging her to embrace the stage... encouragement that complemented the nurturing by her mother."For my son to be able to watch me means a lot. Because we've been through so much together. I'm sorry," she says, tearing up. "He has seen me start and stop. Start and stop. But he's never seen me give up. And he's so proud of me right now. He brags on me to his teachers, all of that. So, it's gonna make me feel so good for him to be able to see me do this." And she admits, it will make her feel good to know someone watching is connecting with her through her voice. "I still love getting on that stage. I still love seeing people's reactions. I still love hearing what they say afterwards. And I love how it feels once I get it out. So, I want to take this thing all the way. Take it home for Alabama."Mobile to release safety PSA after sixth Amtrak death on Mardi Gras route The numbers are impressive.Amtrak's Mardi Gras Service between Mobile and New Orleans is set to more than double predicted ridership for it's first year... eclA Mobile County towing company is pushing back against accusations that it violated Mobile’s towing ordinance during Mardi Gras.
