The City of San Antonio’s ongoing work to expand affordable housing attracted attention.
) - Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson joined other city officials on the Mobile Chamber’s 2024 Leadership Exchange program last weekend.“I want to thank the Mobile Chamber for including several staff members and elected officials in the 2024 Leadership Exchange program in San Antonio last weekend. This was an enjoyable and engaging experience that gave public and private sector leaders across Mobile an opportunity to learn about some of the unique opportunities and challenges our two cities share.
One thing that stuck out to me was the City of San Antonio’s ongoing work to expand affordable housing, particularly workforce housing, in their community. In Mobile, we know that attainable housing isn’t just a quality-of-life issue; it’s an economic issue that impacts our ability to retain talent and recruit industries. As we continue to work to fully activate Mobile’s waterfront, it was great to hear from those leading San Antonio’s River Walk.
Seeing how other communities operate and work together with their partners is always helpful. We are grateful for any opportunity to learn how we can do things better here in Mobile. Thank you to our gracious hosts in San Antonio and to the Mobile Chamber of Commerce for organizing another excellent Leadership Exchange trip!”
