) - Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson made his final address to the Downtown Mobile Alliance Wednesday morning during his annual Breakfast with The Mayor event. Every year, the Mayor’s breakfast brings everyone together to discuss updates on the city’s plan for downtown and its continued growth.
“The downtown alliance has been a good partner. They’ve had a plan collaboratively. We’ve worked that plan and we see a lot of results. At the end of the day, what you want to do is have a thriving downtown,” said Mayor Sandy StimpsonMayor Stimpson spoke about future projects and what he hopes for the future of the port city. “The foundation that has been laid, I think it’s very solid. But when you think about what’s going to happen with the footprint where the auditorium was, and where the arena is going to be. That’s a billion dollars of investment. You think about the future of that, the Riverwalk Plaza, the new hotel, what we’re doing to activate the waterfront, Amtrak, and so forth, the future bolds really well for downtown Mobile,” said Mayor Stimpson.“A new Mayor has a lot to look forward to. And I hope that all of these organizations will embrace them and help him or her in continuing to move downtown forward. Because, without a great downtown, you don’t have a great city,” said Mayor Stimpson‘One of the largest aircraft ever constructed’ takes off from NAS PensacolaMPD identifies woman killed in shooting at Sage ParkWildfire burns over a hundred acres in Southern Mobile County
