And as they get closer to real life scenarios, these recruits are thankful for this experience) - The Mobile Fire Rescue training staff and on duty firefighters spent Thursday morning teaching extrication techniques to its newest class of recruits.
“Today the big thing is them actually getting hands on training on vehicle extrication tools that we utilize here at the fire department. What they’re doing is actually getting a hands-on portion of their training. Utilizing the hydraulic tools that we carry on the fire trucks every day,” Captain Brent Rogers said.
They did so with the help of Barry’s U Pull It. The company once again donating wrecked vehicles for educational purposes.“Being able to be proficient, quick, on time with it, and make sure we get them out as quickly as possible. That’s just the best thing,” Caleb McKinney said. “I’m excited personally to get out in the field and to help people out. It has been a long journey with EMT school, just all the hands-on training, the working out and the preparation. I’m ready to get out,” Pierre Boucher said.“Tech Rescue 8 just came online about a month or so ago here.
