A federal judge sentenced a Semmes man to 14 years in prison in a methamphetamine trafficking case stemming from May 2024.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge Jeffrey U. Beaverstock on Monday handed down a 168 month sentence to Charlie Hall for conspiracy to traffic meth, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama announced today.
The charge stemmed from an incident in May 2024 after Hall agreed to sell about 8.5 ounces of meth to undercover agents for $2,000. According to court documents, law enforcement had Hall’s home under surveillance and saw him put into his vehicle a 5-gallon bucket of meth that he intended to sell. When Hall left his home, authorities said they tried to stop him for a traffic violated, but he sped away. Hall threw the bucket out of his vehicle, spreading meth across the road, court documents revealed. Following a pursuit during which speeds reached more than 100 mph, Hall stopped and was apprehended with the help of a police dog, according to court records. Authorities recovered about 1,275 grams — nearly 45 ounces — of meth from the road, according to court documents. Law enforcement executing a search warrant at Hall’s home found an additional kilogram of meth in another 5-gallon bucket behind the home, court documents showed. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.‘Tremendous loss’: Community mourning after school principal dies on Thanksgiving DayHundreds of Christmas trees from Baldwin County headed to Marine base as part of Trees for TroopsHundreds of Christmas trees from Baldwin County headed to Marine base as part of Trees for Troops
