Councilmen C.J. Small and William Carroll are sponsoring a resolution that would allow special counsel be hired and investigate claims outgoing Police Chief Pau

Mobile City Council considers investigating outgoing chief's accusations against mayor l Prine made in a series of interviews this month. Allegations , Carroll says, they need to get to the bottom of and understand what's true.

The resolution states the "troubling allegations" include Prine's lack of control of the intelligence division, the city's failure to resolve grievances written by Prine, collusion of city officials to remove Prine, allegations contracts have been improperly entered into, and there are others. Several council members questioned Tuesday whether they should be the body performing an investigation and suggested if Prine believes there is wrong doing, he should contact law enforcement if the complaint is criminal in nature or contact the ethics commission, if he suspects unethical behavior.
