Joey Adams is stepping away from basketball after 19 years as Mobile Christian’s coach.
. “It was 100 percent my decision. There are some things I’ve had to do over the last 7-10 years away from basketball that have just made life very busy. I still love it and enjoy the coaching part more than I ever have in certain ways. From an energy standpoint, however, I felt like I just needed a break.”
“I love this program. It’s something I’ve poured a lot of years into, and I want it to be successful. I think, for right now under certain circumstances, it will be good for someone else to come in and take it to an even higher level.”“I’m not closing the door,” he said. “It’s just best for my family and I that I step away right now.”
“I know it can be awkward in that way, but I don’t want it to be,” he said. “I want to get the best person to take this program to new heights. I’m proud of what we’ve done here and so thankful to have had the opportunity.”
