Disney has released the first official Moana live-action trailer, previewing more of the upcoming live-action adaptation of the movie.

The new trailer highlights the recreation of the original 2016 film. In it, the titular Moana will set forth on an adventure to reunite a relic with the goddess Te Fiti. Along the way, she joins forces with Maui, a demigod, and the two journey together to try and help Moana save her people. Alongside Laga’aia and Johnson, the Moana live-action movie is also set to star John Tui, Frankie Adams, and Rena Owen. The movie is directed by Thomas Kail from a script written by Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller. Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Beau Flynn produce the film. “Playing Maui has been the gift of a lifetime.
