Bosa's lawyers have been instructed to write to Premier Panyaza Lesufi, requesting a formal commitment to prioritise and expedite all construction and upgrading of abandoned and/or dilapidated schools to be completed within 90 days and ready for the 2024 academic year.This week, I visited Kwadedangendlale Secondary School in Zola, Soweto, which has been closed and out of operation because it is unsafe for occupation.
It was more than five years ago that parents of pupils at the school – after years of complaints to the government falling on deaf ears – closed the school themselves and rendered it hazardous and unsafe.
