PORT KLANG: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has activated a search and rescue operation for an elderly man who fell off the Tanjung Sepat Jetty.

Selangor MMEA director Maritime Captain Siva Kumar Vengadasalam said the search and rescue operation which started on Saturday was being coordinated by the Johor Baru Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre with assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department as well as the Civil Defence Force and the local fishing community.

"The search and rescue operation was activated on Saturday at 7.30pm," he said in a statement on Sunday ."The 63-year-old victim is believed to have fallen into the sea on Jan 20 when his motorcycle, sarong and slippers were found at the end of the jetty by the victim's son at around 11am.
